  • Soft Credit Gifts

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me out with this...Is there a way to include soft credit gifts in a query? If so, how do I go about in doing so? I appreciate any help on this. Thanks, Abby

  • Re: Parent payment of child's pledge

Just one option, but we enter the gift on the 'parent' record. For our procedures they are the donor. We generally soft-credit. For our reporting we generally do not include soft-credits so have not really had much of an issue. If the pledge is entered on the child's record and you enter...

  • Apply soft credits for past gifts

I love that you can soft credit a constituent with all their spouse's past gifts with a single click. Can anyone tell me if they know of a way to conveniently soft credit a company owner with their company's past giving in some simple way? I looked at global change, but didn't see an option...

  • Assigning credit to a solicitor when the gift involves, soft credit, pledge and multiple solicitors

Greetings RE-land I have a unique situation that I am hoping someone has some experience with. (I created a case with knowledgebase as well, but sometimes this is a more timely solution) Please bear with me as I explain: Ultimately what I am trying to do is produce an acurate solicitor's analysis...

  • Managing Gifts For Alums Married To Alums

Hi all, how do other schools handle crediting gifts when an alum is married to an alum? How do you handle reunion giving when both alums are in the reunion year? Examples on the knowledge base or other forums? How do you do it? Thanks. -Fred Sarah Lawrence College

  • Re: New Donor Analysis

Wish I had a suggestion. Dealing with the SC is a pain and we do not do near the analysis and reports that you do. I eventually get so frustrated I turn in the #s and say it's as close as I can get without going crazy. Not even sure what RE could do to make the reporting/querying easier.

  • Re: How to track constituent relationship giving history

If the org is owned by the individual, we SC the individual. We do not SC for companies where individual is an employee. We do use a gift code of 'Board'. In this situation either org/co would be coded as board. We can pull list easily of gifts related to board members and their orgs. However...

  • Re: Soft Crediting Spouse records

We don't soft credit spouse gifts. AND for many of our married couples, they both have their own constituent record. This has created so many problems in reporting. We are currently looking for a solution to fix this... There is a business rule that automatically makes the spouse of a now-deceased...

  • Re: friends-asking-friends-style events and soft credits

Yes, recording these as soft credits (SC) definitely 'trivializes the meaning of "real" soft credits'. For us a board member or solicitor is not SC'ed for any of the gifts they bring in (with exception of their spouse or a company they own - a real SC for us). Do you use solicitor...

  • friends-asking-friends-style events and soft credits

My organization does events in which fundraising teams solicit large quantities of small gifts from co-workers and acquaintances. Some teams have our board members on them, and when this is so, the money raised by that team needs to be counted toward the appropriate board member's "give or get"...
