  • SSN # on Constituent Records

I believe that I read somewhere that you can have a constituents SSN viewable for only certain user's. I have tried to uncheck the box under the "Field" for the SSN number but that seems to take it off of the Bio 1 tab for all users. We are in a position that this needs to happen now that...

  • Re: Month End Checklist For Raiser's Edge Entry

I know it's when we get our UW donation by them using an electronic fund transfer. Ever curious, I had to look up what the acronym stood for. What is ACH? The Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network The ACH Network is a highly reliable and efficient nationwide batch-oriented electronic funds transfer...

  • SSN display

Is there a way to allow only one Security Group to see/update the SSN field? I know I can HIDE the SSN field, but then no one can see it. I know I can mask all but the last 4 digits, but even that is too much for our HR department to accept. Thanks...

  • NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBER

Hi Ayse, I have used the National Insurance number (Social Security Number in US version) a few times for different reasons. Basically it can be used wherever a unique id is needed. This can be for integration to another system. The benefit of using the National Insurance Number is that you can use it...

  • Social Security Number

We want to enter our volunteers social security numbers as they are working with children and it is an added form of protection for us. My question is this, I have a lot of people accessing the database, and do not feel that everyone needs to be able to see the social security number field. Is it possible...

I know that higher ed institutions fall under the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, so I would think that any non-profit that obtains confidential financial info will also be affected by the Act. The areas of the institution that are affected are those that obtain or have on record anything considered financial...

  • Problems finding Alumni

If you can find a way to fund Alumnifinder, it is a great resource. You can search by name, social security #, address, business. It will supply you with past addresses, birthdates, so you can narrow the search that way when searching for a common name. I also use Searchbug.com, it is free, unless you...

  • Got a BIG Mess and need to clean it up!

I would highly recommend picking the brains of support as much as possible to find answers and to figure out how the tools work, etc. My first recommendation for you is to set up a test environment. This way you can do whatever you want to test data and see what happens. If it works, apply it to the...

  • Unique Identifiers

I'm curious as to how other organizations handle not having unique identifiers coming in for constituent records. For example, I'm the database administrator for a 4 campus RE system, and just found out we are not allowed to be given social security numbers any more to identify employees already...
