  • Segmented Direct Mail Runs

Hello All, I'm wondering if anyone has a good way to segement groups for direct mail. I typically have 10 different segements for each direct mail. Some need to include the last gift amount and date and some do not. Currently I have 10 different queries that I export into excel, sort and de-dup....

  • Re: Individual versus Organization

Hi Cara and JoAnn, The functionality that JoAnn just mentioned on the Org tab is a great way to avoid having someone receive 2 mailings because they are both an individual and a contact for an organization. Another tool that you can use to 'de-dupe' a record that exists in multiple queries would...

  • Re: Appeal donations for spouses - Yes they are soft credited, but what about the Appeal tab response?

I agree with Laurel, but hind's sight is 20/20, right? So - I'd do one of two things... Easy: Simply change the number solicited manually in the Appeal Record Easy but more effective: Delete the Assigned appeal from ALL records and do what Laurel said to do. Use the Mail Segment tab in the Mail...

  • Re: How to create a heirarchy on constituent ID

The segment tab in Mail enables you to Eliminate duplicate mailings to the same constituent record when the constituent is in more than one query. In addition, you can Include several queries in one mailing without having to first merge them using the OR operator in Query Process the mailing function...

  • Re: Several criteria for a query HELP???

This looks like you will need to run several queries and either merge them into one for one long list or what I do is put the mutiple queries into Mail and use the segment feature to organize and de-dupe the lists and create output queries that I will use to export or create reports. Hope that helps...

  • Adding Non-Fundraising Appeals through Mail

We're having a little bit of a battle here. This is a two part question. First, would you add a planned giving newsletter as an appeal through the segment tab (7) in the Mail module. Second, do all appeals have to be linked to a gift? Thanks for your help. Cindy

  • Re: Evaluating and Consolidating Fundraising Appeals

Can you explain how many queries you have going into the segmment tab and what they are? Are you using include/exclude in the attribute tab? The include there is tricky and can eliminate anyone who does not meet that include. I therefore only use exclude when I have queries in the segment tab. From a...

  • Re: HOH error?

Walk us through exactly how you did your pull for the mailing. Did you use Mail Quick letters and the segment tab. Unfortunately there are some issues with the HOH processing between segments.

  • Re: Database Clean Up

Shannon - I like using the Segment feature in Quickletters (Mail); you can add a bunch of existing queries & it'll basically de-dupe the list for you. I just generate an output query from quickletters & dump that into an Export file with all the necessary fields the mailhouse needs. Give...

  • Direct Mail problem

Something wrong when I execute Segment in RE/Mail/Quick Letters, it always frezen. Here is what I did: 1. I created queries of kill list, and donor lists, 2. in RE/Mail/Quick Letters/Segment, "segment mail run" ticked. Put query names on "Input Query" with "kill list" query...
