When adding new gifts and prompted if I want them applied to pledges, I answer no, but the gift is still applied to the existing pledge. How do I prevent this?

We wrote a custom part in BBNC that uses the API to build and insert a pledge into RE. It works really well. I'm not sure if the out of the box solution in NetCommunity for Online Giving facilitates pledges.
