matching gifts (RSS)
  • Re: Matching Gift Mess!

Melissa, I have found this issue very confusing to explain as well, since it defies all RE logic. Let me try one more time. Three individuals donated and had their gifts matched by the same company. Each of the three constituent gift grids showed the proper initial gift and matching gift pledge. In accordance...

  • Re: Matching Gift Mess!

Jason, is the pledge on the company making the match's record? How about the gift/payments? And you do mean that the match is showing as a gift not a soft credit (in error) to the other constituents giftS? Does the payment on Constit A show Constit A as the person making the payment? If the first...

  • Matching Gift Mess!

Somehow, either through data entry error 10 years ago, or in the conversion to RE from Datatel Benefactor, we had some matching gifts go wrong, and nobody noticed until now. I'd love your thoughts on how best to resolve this. What we have are cases of a single matching gift being applied to several...

  • Matching gifts and payroll deductions on the same check

How can we handle this. We have some donor who give through a payroll deduction that their employer matches. Only problem is that the donor's gift and the matching gift are on the same check. How can we credit the donor for $50, and create a matching gift for $50 in the batch?

  • Applied gift to wrong matching gift pledge

So, I applied a gift from a company's foundation to the wrong matching gift pledge from one of its employees. Now I can't "unapply" the gift. What's worse, the gift created a cash remainder because it was supposed to pay for other pledges that weren't entered in RE. I can't...

  • Matching gifts and RE: Matching gift foundation name vs. Company name.

As you know, some companies have separate foundations to administer their matching gift programs. These foundations have addresses and sometimes names that are different from the corporate name. (i.e.. The Pitney Bowes Giving Station) How do you handle this? Do you make a separate constituent for...

  • Pledges/Split Gift Strategy over 5 years

We are beginning a 5-year campaign and are looking for best practices in gift entry. Our campaign allows constituents to make a pledge that can be split between both Annual fund and Endowment over that 5-year period. Should pledges be entered in one gift record as a split gift (to each campaign with...
