  • The Value of $0 Gifts

Our previous system created $0 gifts for all our new constituents that didn't give when we created them. Is there a risk in deleting these $0 first gifts? We don't use GL posting, so that's not a concern. Relatedly, for a while now we would change gifts entered in error to $0 rather than...

  • Re: receipting gifts in batch

Hi Jocelyn, Here's a monkey wrench for you - we don't use the receipted section of gift entry. We send out acknowledgment letters that have an attached receipt. We call it our Master Gift letter. All donors receive this type of letter when the gift is between $101 - $10,000. Gifts $100 or under...

  • Re: receipting gifts in batch

Thanks for the reply JoAnn! Sorry, I think my initial question had a poor choice of words. Not trying to update receipt info, rather just enter as we're batching. This has come up for us a few times as we're entering gifts into RE from our online solution vendor. The gifts are e-receipted automatically...

  • Re: receipting gifts in batch

Jocelyn, If I'm understanding your question... Any changes/updates you make in a batch before committing will be the information that is committed to the records. "What you commit is what you get" (Just FYI - If you enter "receipted" in batch you will not be able to receipt using...

  • Re: Gift entry when percentage of gift goes to a fee account

Karen, did you find a way to make this easy? I know this is an old post, but we have just started assessing a gift fee and I prefer to avoid as many steps as possible. For now, I am splitting each gift - 95% to whatever is designated and 5% to the Operating Fund (donor of course gets credit for 100%...

  • Re: committed batch does not show up as a query

All you need to do is create a query. Most likely you want a gift query. Then in criteria under Gift select Batch # equals XXX. Output whatever fields you want. When you do your next batch double check the 'create query' box to be sure it's checked. :)

  • Gift processing - how to process a reimbursement check

We recently held an event that coincided with a local conference. Conference participants were given the option of adding $X dollars to their conference registration for tickets to a panel discussion later that evening. As opposed to the Association using that money to buy tickets (which, to me, would...
