Melissa is right on. If you have access to Config, you can go to Fields, Participant and unmark the Required checkbox in the Participation row. Hi, Jared. I agree--user-defined rules would work well in this situation, but they're limited to constituent, gift, and action records. Have you considered renaming the 2007 event to indicate it's inactive?
