  • Re: soft credit owner of a corp which makes a gift?

Hi JoAnn - thanks for your response...... I am not quite clear on what you meant when you said: "Regardless of name on check, as the business owner money comes out of his pocket. (We hard credit account on check.)" Are you saying that you credit the owner, not the business, since it all comes...

  • soft credit owner of a corp which makes a gift?

We migrated from GiftMaker to RE a little over a year ago and are not (yet) consistent with soft crediting. We want to create a policy and implement it.... at this point, remaining spouses are soft-credited for gifts when the primary spouse dies, and we have soft-credited in cases of two donors, giving...

  • Re: Business that has a foundation as well....two records for each?

We have separate records. Exactly for the reason others cited: address, staff, they each unique entities. It keeps giving record for local bank much cleaner without the foundation/matching gift records. We soft credit those we need. Do have relationship between records.

  • Address Validation. Quick Address?

Hello everyone. We currently use Quick Address to validate our addressees before we add them onto Raisers Edge. However we have been told we now have to upgrade to the newer version of QAS as our version (is quite old) and will no longer be supported. As we have been told to upgrade, i wanted to see...

  • Pledge and split payments

How do I............... 1. Constituent A made a pledge in June of 500.00 2. Constituents B & C paid 250.00 each in July that should have been credited towards Constituent A's pledge but were not and were applied to B & C records as separate and distinct payments with no connection to the...

  • Who Was That Masked Donor?

"Who knows what altruism lurks in the hearts of donors? The Raiser's Edge knows." Like Pip in Great Expectations , your organization may be patronized by an anonymous benefactor. Unlike Pip, you probably don't have an escaped convict as a benefactor, but even without a troubled past...

  • Re: How does money that comes in to Development get recorded with the Business Office?

Hello Allison, Depending on what software your Business Office is using, it would be simplier to process the gifts once within the Development Office and then create a secondary export data stream that can be subsequently imported into your Business Office's software. We are implementing such a process...

Kathy, You should be able to turn your acknowledgements in 24 to 36 hours at the most, not 3-days. Thank you, Jim

  • Re: Scanner for data entry

Melissa, Depending on your annual volume, going the lockbox route can add considerable cost without making your data entry any easier. In fact, lockbox tends to increase the amount of data entry work on top of the cost of the lockbox. I'd suggest that you talk with fellow RE'ers that have tried...
