  • Re: What is everyone Standard for Constituency Codes.???

Hi Diane, We use constituency codes and attributes. Constituency codes are why someone is in our database e.g. Professional Advisor, Accountant, Bequest, Committee Member, POT1 (prospect at the $1mm level) Active (active prospect) etc. We have about 100 constituency codes. Yes, that seems like a lot...

  • Re: Constituent Codes "Date To"

Hi Sally, When I am not sure how a global change will effect records I use the sample database and build a query of a few records. Using your questions make sure the records have multiple constituency codes and then do the global change. You can do a Specific Record query, pull a few sample records or...

  • Re: Committees Members and Event Volunteers in RE

Renee - For Committee members we use Attributes. For Volunteers we use Constituent Codes. I like using Attributes for a lot of different coding challenges. RE is so open and versatile that you could use any number of areas to mark these individuals.

  • Importing new constituents from a finder file (constituency code vs attribute)

For our direct mail acquisition campaign, we are getting a "finder file" to make inputting easier for gifts that come in. I'll be importing the finder file into RE, but I need some easy way to query them at the end of the year so that those that did not give a gift can be deleted. I'm...

  • Updating Existing Records with Addresses

I am working to import a monthly file of individuals that for the most part currently exist in the database (a few newbies) but this includes a consistent code, address and attributes. Currently when I run the update process, fields such as last name and first name get updated as I would expect. But...

  • Re: Info Source vs. ???

[quote user="Michelle Friedline"]I used to work for an org which used the Info Source field to track where the Constituent came from, rather than the address, that is, how/why were they added to RE (from an event, a rented list, signup sheet at front door, etc). But, reading some other posts...

  • Tracking non-Development related prospects/contacts

Our Workforce and Economic Development department wants to track their clients/contacts in Raiser's Edge. I would like to know if there are other educational users out there that have broadened their use of RE to include non-Development related records. I believe these records could be related to...

  • Update Suggestion – Table Definitions & Field Map on Code Table Report

Further to another post regarding Table Entry Definitions, a colleague and I had couple other ideas that we thought could be beneficial. - TABLE DEFINITIONS - At a higher level than the table entry definitions, have a synopsys of what the purpose of the table entries in a particular table should...

  • Update Suggestion - Table Entry Definitions

So a common issue that I have discovered working with Raiser’s Edge is that over time, people forget or don’t understand what the various table entries mean, and therefore start using them for reasons other than their intended purpose. Some of us do our best to document definitions in order to help...

  • Re: Constituent Codes vs Attributes

Hi Lori, The way it's been explained to me in a user group meeting is that a Constituent Code is what the constituent's relationship is to the organization (why s/he is in the database - board member, etc.), and an Attribute is a descriptor of the constituent. Hope this helps. Chris
