  • Inactive Appeal Codes

Greetings, We're trying to figure out data entry procedures for inactive appeals. Specifically, for direct mail, we inactivate appeal codes 120 days after the mailing dropped. Any examples or suggestions on an appeal code to use if we receive a gift from an (inactive) appeal after 120 days? Do you...

  • comparing date of appeal with date of gift

Is there a way to get a report that compares the date an appeal went out with the date of the gift made because of that appeal? I'm trying to decide whether it matters WHEN I send membership renewals or whether people are renewing on their own schedule no matter what.

  • Re: Tracking participants without the event module

Rene, Hi, I am using appeals as well to track event attendance, ticket sales etc. I am new at this, though, and would like to ask you how you update constituent records to indicate "attended." I have the sign in sheet from the event. For people who purchased tickets, when entering the gifts...

  • Re: Acquisition Mail Codes

Gift Appeal codes. However, since it's an acquisition mailing, I'm assuming that the people you mailed to are not in your database, yet, until they dontate. Therefore make sure you enter the No. Solicited for each Appeal and/or package. No. Solicited will show up on your appeal analysis report...

  • Appeal donations for spouses - Yes they are soft credited, but what about the Appeal tab response?

I'm tied in knots. My excel export says that we mailed an appeal to, say, 10,000 people. (That's what is in the organization's shared file for everyone to see.) I noted the appeal on these constituent's Appeal tab as well. However, when the records were merged and husbands and wives received...

  • Re: Tracking/Naming Events

I would use the appeal as an all encompassing like Golf Sponsor I would then link the actual gifts to the annual event like 09Golf, 10Golf, etc. as registration fees or other donations as appropriate. I wouldn't use attributes at all if I had the event module. Attributes CAN be used in the Gift Detail...

  • 1st time tracking response to a mailout (event invite)

Our development officer has decided she would like to track the success of different mailings/contacts of our invite to participate in a certain event. We've never done this before but I set up different packages for each invite (our mail outs, different email blasts, faxed invite, etc.) and thought...

  • Re: Phonathon Tracking - Best Practices

We use Appeal and list the response in the response column. We use "gave", "declined", "not reached" for our phon-a-thon responses.

  • Re: Tracking participants without the event module

We use Appeals that are flagged with the Appeal Category of Events to record the details of the event - I usually just enter the exact text from the invite. Then we use the Assigned Appeals info on Constituent Records to track the Response - e.g. Plans to Attend, Attended, Declined, etc. We use the Comments...

  • Re: using appeals tab for magazine mailing

I think it's a good idea to use an appeal whenever you are requesting a response of any kind, financial or otherwise. (unless it was even invitations). That allows you to run appeal response reports and evaluate the packages etc. Also it is much simpler than setting up an action. Use the response...
