New USPS Regulations (NCOA)
Hi all! I got caught completely off guard with the new USPS regulations on all bulk and pre-sort mailings. In case you don't know, before you can send out a bulk or pre-sort mailing, your mailing must be ran through a NCOA check. We use a mailing service that prepares our major mailings for us. They...

Participant Code Requirement from the USPS
We are required by the USPS to store a participant code on every record in our database that would be pulled on a mailing list. This is because we will be participating in the electronic address change service. The code will consist of seven alpha characters and will be the same for every record. The...

Move Update, Privacy Laws?
Does anyone know where our organization can go, online, to look up privacy laws concerning donors and updating change of address through 3rd party venders (such as RE)? We are investigating using AddressFinder and AddressAccelerater, and all processes have come to a hult when we discovered the release...

New USPS requirement
I would like to know how RE users are going to handle this new compliance for mailings. Oct. 6, 2008) In an effort to cut the amount of undeliverable mail it processes, the United States Postal Service (USPS) is requiring mailing lists be updated and verified more frequently. Nonprofits that are not...

Formal address vs USPS accepted
Hi fellow Forumites, I know we have discussed this in several ways before - but here's a new wrinkle - the question my ED posed. Can we keep the USPS address in RE as the preferred and use that for exports for the envelopes and ALSO load a formal address with punctuation etc into RE as a formal address...

Electronic Address Corrections from USPS
Does anyone use the USPS' electronic address correction service (ACS)? The information about how it works is in their Publication 8. Right now we are paying .70 cents per address correction, but if you subscribe to this, it costs .20 cents per correction(maybe more with recent rate increase). Questions...

ACS service from USPS- Handling changes
We mail a quarterly magazine on which we use the ACS (Address Change Service) from the post office. The post office returns a file(Buletin Board service) of any address changes/corrections. RE7 does not have a utility to handle these. Is anyone else using this service, and if so, how are you handling...

Can I get the county to upload w/NCOA?
I just used the NCOA module for the first time - and thankfully everything seems to have gone well. I have one problem, however. You see, we use Counties on our database. Every person who now has a new address (because of the NCOA update) now has to have their county changed appropriately --a huge task...
