Re: New USPS Regulations (NCOA)
Hi Joanie, The organization that I work for has several Raiser's Edge database sites that use Blackbaud's AddressFinder service for NCOA updates. We update our data file to Blackbaud via the Data Heath Center function located on Raiser's Edge main navigation bar. Blackbaud then runs the file...

Finder help in the Data Health Center
How often do you run AddressFinder ? Every month? 3 months? What about DeceasedFinder , PhoneFinder or Emailfinder ? Once or twice a year? With everything else you have on your plate each day the last thing you want to remember is what each checkbox and option means in your finder processes you run every...

AddressFinder returns old county
To those of you who use AddressFinder. I am interested in your answers to the following: Were you aware that AddressFinder returns NEW addresses with the County from the OLD address on it? Do you expect the service to work this way? Do you expect the service to return the address with the county blank...

Re: Import New address
No, that will not work. I have never been able to come up with a good solution for this except to say - use Blackbaud's AddressFinder instead of another vendor. The problem is that the two addresses are linked using a background ID that you can not access. You can not during your import tell RE to...

Participant Code Requirement from the USPS
We are required by the USPS to store a participant code on every record in our database that would be pulled on a mailing list. This is because we will be participating in the electronic address change service. The code will consist of seven alpha characters and will be the same for every record. The...

AddressFinder and new Postal Requirements
We conduct NCOA updates on a roughly quarterly basis. As a result of the new postal regulations, our mail house needs some form of documentation to prove that we have updated our addresses. I cannot find anything appropriate to provide them. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks.

Move Update, Privacy Laws?
Does anyone know where our organization can go, online, to look up privacy laws concerning donors and updating change of address through 3rd party venders (such as RE)? We are investigating using AddressFinder and AddressAccelerater, and all processes have come to a hult when we discovered the release...

Re: New USPS requirement
Hi Dina, This information does include all the methods for Standard Mail to qualify for the Move Update standards. I recommend non-profits to seek out their local chapter of the Postal Customer Council (PCC) for advice or visit the website at http://www.usps.com/ncsc/addressservices/moveupdate/moveupdatemenu...

Re: Deleting Constituent Records
Most of us never delete records (unless they have been found to have a duplicate record). You never know when the fact that you used to mail to john smith at x address will be useful. Do you run your data through NCOA (AddressFinder)? I believe that that type of screening is much better at finding lost...
