Adding Action Notes to an Outlook Appt

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to add the Action Notes to an Outlook appt? The reminder that gets sent to Outlook seems useless without them.....(Blackbaud is apparently currently working on re-implementing this....) - thanks

Action Categories, Action Types and Action Notepad Types

We have some REALLY disorganized tables for Action Types and Action Notepad Types. If you throw the Action Category on top of it all, it's almost impossible to enter an action without getting confused, which prevents us from tracking information in any useful fashion.

Would any of you be willing to share your Actions table and your Action Notepad Types table with me?

Action Notepads on RE 7.85

Hi there.

I have a question for those people who are using RE ver7.85. I understand that in the Actions window, there are now 3 tabs, including a seperate tab for Notes - and that this tabs is similar to the 'Notes' tab in that you can select a Notepad type from a drop-down list? If this is the case, it would be very helpful to know how other people are using this - whether you use types like 'Meeting Report', 'Next Step', 'Prospect Meeting', etc. Would be interested to see how people are using this and what sort of notepad types you are using.

Notes in Actions

We have started to use actions to plan for an upcoming campaign. I am wondering where others have entered notes concerning the action (email, coffee, lunch, sending a personal note)? Do you enter the note in the note section of the action, under the Notes tab, or both? We are struggling with making a decision on this.

Action Notes

We track visits/contacts by actions in RE. In addition to the notation of a contact as an Action we also create what we call "contact reports" created in Word. A paper copy of this is filed in the personal paper folder. My question is rather than actually attaching the Word document to the action (which I understand is possible) we were considering copying and pasting specific paragraphs from a contact report into the Notes field of the action. Sometimes these reports can run rather long (up to 1 entire typed page). I manage over 100,000+ very detailed active records so I am wondering if this would be practical or if we should continue to summarize the visit in the action notes? Any thoughts?

Looking for established processes on entering in actions with corresponding reports on action information. We are trying to establish a moves management process and ensure that the details of entering in actions, including types, notepads etc. is included. Thanks in advance for any help or documentation.

Action Notepads

We have not been using Action Notepad types. However, since updating...it's now a required field.

I don't want to be redundant and use same as Action Type.

Would some of you be willing to share your Notepad types?

Using Notepads in Crystal

Hi

Has anyone successfully used Notepads or Action Notes in a crystal report and combined it with using either boxes or lines when formatting the report?

I have a report that includes both of the above which runs without any problem but when I try and make the report more readable by using boxes or lines to seperate each constituent and/or each column it just goes all pear shaped and I get the column lines running off the page or empty boxes appearing at the bottom of the page.

If anyone has any tips I'd love to hear them!
