  • Re: Gift total > $750 in a 12 Month Period - Not calendar or fiscal year

I don't know of a way to do it with Raiser's Edge's existing capabilities. If you export the data and use MS Access or Excel to analyze the data, (or crystal reports, maybe) it is possible. If you are not experienced with complex formulas in these data analysis programs, I expect it'll be difficult for you to segment out the group ...

  • Re: Gifts for special projects

[quote user="Diane Zinn"]How do you track each special projects funds? We have projects like "playground", "clinical care", "landscaping" and "art project". We only use appeals for actual requests for money. We use funds for the checking account the donations go to. Would love some ...

  • Re: copy and paste into a Raiser's Edge query

Others have used it. See this Blackbaud User Society forum thread: http://www.blackbus.org/forum/query-import-export/5039-copy-paste-information-into-raisers-edge-query.html

  • Re: re query for parents of x-graders

(((Relation Education Status does not equal Left yields different results from Relation Education Date Left is blank, when I thought those results should both be the same.))) If "date left" is not required for the status to be "left", then you can have people who left but nobody recorded the date on which they left. So ...

  • copy and paste into a Raiser's Edge query

I'm sure I am not the only person who has wanted to copy and paste a list of names, importID numbers, etc into a query. Raiser's edge does not accept "paste" operations of more than one line. But there's a workaround. This macro looks for a query criteria window whenever you press control+v. If one is not found, the ...

  • Re: Multiple Raiser's Edge databases - UK and US offices

A secure file sharing service (you can find a bunch of 'em with a google search) might be sufficient for your purposes, if you can run reports / exports that show all of the data the out-of-country offices will need.
  • Re: Proposal actions

I'm not 100% clear on what you're trying to do, but using the Export feature of raiser's edge (that is, click on "export" from the R.E. front screen) may solve your problem. A custom report made in Crystal Reports would surely be able to filter out the data you don't want (phone calls and correspondence), but it ...

  • Re: Participant Code Requirement from the USPS

You could pick something that's easy to print onto a label. You could put it under its own type of addressee, or alias. Attributes would work OK too, but you'd probably have to add the participant code independently to the mailings (e.g. entering it in a raiser's edge label printing as a "user defined message") (go ...
  • Re: Preferred Email

we have an e-mail type called "preferred e-mail"  Which is kind of strange because the main e-mail address that we use becomes known as "preferred preferred e-mail" (i.e. preferred e-mail address that is attached to the preferred mailing address). The way our database is set up, the preferred address holds all of the ...
  • Re: Head of Household records

Back in July 2000 when we began using Raiser's Edge, someone (not me) came up with the scheme our organization uses to solve this problem. We deal with families where the children are entered as constituents with their own events information, etc. To make one-per-household mailings possible, our database was set up to show the ...
