  • Re: Querying an uncommitted batch

This cannot be done (I don't believe). The gifts in the batch are not real gifts on records until you commit the batch. Once the batch has been committed you can search for gifts that are from a certain batch but you cannot do this until the gifts have actually been created. David

  • Re: entering cremations into database

I don't know the specifics but it would seem to me that this would be good if saved as actions. You could query on them, date them and assign letters to them too.  David

  • Re: Country Code Table

The country code table is not with all the other code tables. Because it has many extra parameters (short and long values, currency, address format, etc) it has its own section in Config. If you look under International then you will find what you are looking for.   David

  • Batch API Crashing

The batch API is driving me crazy! In the past have have got it to work several times. Once in the past I had problems when trying to add rows to the batch but this was explained away with different versions of the software versus SQL server (although I am not sure about that) The problem has now come back and I wonder if anyone else ...

  • RE7 UK version outside of UK

I was wondering if there is anybody out there who uses the European version of RE7 (which is in reality the UK version) and what problems you have using or trying to avoid using the UK functionality. The following come to mind: Gift Aid Sort codes that are validated to 6 digits in length (even if the country's bank code is less or ...

  • Re: RE Conversion - Postal code problems

You could export all the postal codes to excel or access, perform a split function on the postal code there and then reimport them. I think that would be the simplest way of doing it.  Other than writing a plug-in that does this for you I am not sure of any other way. The plug-in itself would be very quick to write - a few hours and would ...

  • Re: Importing large number of new constituents into RE

Rachael, I have a plug-in that performs such a duplicate lookup. ID Lookup takes a list of people and attempts to look them up in Raiser's Edge. You can map various criteria sets for looking up. The plug-in will try to match against each criteria set until it finds either a unique match or the match with the fewest multiples. ...

  • Re: How to run a DLL automatically at startup, or the equivalent...

I don't believe that this is possible unless you have RE:VBA. If you do have the VBA module then you can put your commands to run in the start up REApplication object.  Of course I may not have understood you properly. If it is a question of simply deploying it on all machines then put your dll in a visual studio setup project so ...

  • Knowledgebase restricted to maintenance contract

This is really annoying. I can no longer search for coding solutions or solutions that help others in the knowledgebase unless I have maintenance for those products. I currently have the simplest version of RE without any extras. This means that I cannot see any answers about the VBA/API nor can I see any answers about other areas of RE that I ...
  • Feedback form restricted to 45 characters

I was going to give some useful feedback but the feedback form is restricted to 45 characters!! Not very useful. David
