  • Job Posting for RE Manager

School Year Abroad, an international high school based in Lawrence, MA, is searching for a new Development and Alumni Relations Associate.   This person is responsible for maintaining the Raiser's Edge database for a growing development office.  There is a great team in place, and this is a great opportunity to shape how an ...

  • Create an education

We use the Suffix 2 field to add our affiliation ''tags''. We are an international school with campuses in France, Spain, Italy, and China, so we have tags like F82 or C96. For parents, the tags have a P on the end (I04P). Past faculty have an F on the end (S69F) We have a few alumni who attended two countries, and many parents of multiple ...

  • Board of Directors

We have a constituent code of "Trustee" that we add to the person's record when they become a Trustee. This allows us to add start and end dates of their term. We also have constituency codes for those who are on special committees. Johanna Shaw Development and Alumni Relations Associate School Year Abroad [Email Removed]

  • New Donor Report

You would think the New Donor Report would pull those people for you correctly. I've only used the New Donors Report once so I don't know a lot about it, but you should be able to get it to work by restricting it to a query. Save a query with criteria of first gift date in the range you specify. Click on the ''include'' button at the top of the ...

  • Who is a Constituent?

You may want to enter your event as an action rather than an attribute. This is what we use when we hold events. We globally add the date of the event and all other pertinent information, with status of ''invited'', using the same query as the mailing list for the global add. You could put in the action information when you import the ...

  • Tracking Ask Levels

The start of a new fiscal year is upon us, and we are revisiting how we track ask levels and how we name our appeals. This is my first chance to set up a new fiscal year in RE at this organization and I want to make sure we do it the best way we can. In the past the appeals have been named things like "AF 05-06 Builder" ...

  • Salutation Standards

We are a school, so we do not have one blanket policy for everyone. Everyone gets a formal addressee, with a suffix for their class affiliation. Alumni get their first name or nickname as a salutation. Parents get the formal M/M salutation. There are some strange cases though. In the case of an alumnus who is also now a parent, we address ...

  • Exporting to Word

I, too, have only seen the word (exact) option when exporting reports. However, you can edit a pdf if you have Adobe Acrobat rather than just the reader. Maybe there is a copy of Acrobat floating around your office that would solve the problem? It's probably worth asking around for. Johanna Shaw Development and Alumni Relations ...

  • Search screen results

We use Primary Addressee rather than name for pretty much everything. We are a school, and have alumni and parent codes for their year and campus show as suffixes. When there are common names like John Smith, it really helps to make sure we have the right one. You can set up people's Primary Addressee to show the name and suffix fields in ...
  • Gift Giving Clubs and Acknowledging

We have several named giving levels - $500; $1,500; $2,500; $5,000; and $10,000+. We are a school, and we are also starting a young alumni circle (that has yet to be named - the donors for this inaugural year are asked to suggest the name), where the youngest alumni will need to contribute $25 to join, and classes a little further out will need ...
