We use a relationship type such as student sibling or sibling of student.  We stay away from brother or sister types of relationships as we don't alwaysknow the gender based on name.  We also add children of our alumni in a similar way Child(son or daughter).  We also use a reciprocal to the relationship.

We do the same thing as Watkins. We don't usually know when a donor makes a pledge that they are going to pay by donor advised funds. We use IATS. It is very compatible with RE. RE allows procesisng batches through RE to IATS and then the data flows back to RE. This saved us many staff hours. We use a preprinted 3 column reminder form. I can send you a hard copy of the form. It was created by our communication department a few years back.
