  • Grants Software

Does anyone have any suggestions for tracking grants made by your organization to other organizations? We're increasing our level of activity in this area and need some kind of mechanism for tracking status, reporting, and other information, without having to recreate it from our ledgers. Any and all ideas would be welcomed!! Thanks and have ...

The California State Parks Foundation provides 12 holidays per year and 3-5 weeks vacation, depending on seniority and level of responsibility. We are less than 50 employees, but we have instituted our own version of FMLA, which includes special circumstances for Pregnancy Disability Leave, which is mandated by state law. Employees can use sick ...

  • Mail processes

Hi all: I am currently trying to resolve an issue with development personnel related to the opening of mail. Some staff want all their mail delivered to them unopened for confidentiality and other reasons. We get most of our receipts through a lockbox, so its not an issue of volume, but magnitude as far the checks we receive directly in our ...
  • Compensation

the Foundation does not have a dedicated events person, so I don't think we have comparable information. However, we recently hired a public relations asst. We always get an estimated value for the in-kind gifts from the donor or an independent source, but we don't put the value into the acknowledgement letter. Michael Bankert VP, Finance & Administration California State Parks Foundation
  • Gift In Kind Receipting

Its our policy to describe the item in the acknowledgement letter with no reference to value. We do get an estimate of the value and enter it in RE to ensure that we capture it when running donor lists for the annual report, etc. Michael Bankert VP, Finance & Administration California State Parks Foundation
  • Fundraising Online

The California State Parks Foundation is using Get Active for its online fundraising and advocacy work. Although its new to us, it appears useful with data entry into RE for our membership and donation information. Its also flexible and user friendly, according to our DBA. We haven't used it long enough to know the cons, except that it is not ...

  • Working around the outstanding issues in FE

We have had tremendous success with FE thus far, except for the occasional glitch here and there. We also do not use the payroll module, so I can't respond to those issues. Its made our life so much easier around here, particularly around audit time. Michael Bankert VP, Finance & Administration California State Parks Foundation
