  • Re: Copy and Paste from Excel into a query

There's a thread on the Blackbus site all about this, and is VERY useful: http://www.blackbus.org/forum/query-import-export/5039-copy-paste-information-into-raisers-edge-query.html Thanks Lee

  • Re: Creating an Output Query through Import

That solution number is BB124766. I don't know if you've seen this thread, but it also EXTREMELY useful http://www.blackbus.org/forum/query-import-export/5039-copy-paste-information-into-raisers-edge-query.html Thanks Lee
  • Re: Test Gift Aid Report

Hi Jonathan, Yep, very easy to do. Run the R68 as you would the real thing, including putting in a claim number (I don't think yoyu can run it at all without doing that) and then after running it it will ask if you want to update all records with that claim number. Say no. That's it everything will remain untouched. Hope that makes ...

  • Re: Using different letterhead in a conditional merge

As far as I'm aware, if you have have print letter 1 if  amount <<less than $25>> and then print letter 2 if  amount <<less than $500>> and then print letter 3 if  amount <<less than $2,500>> Then it will work in the same way.eg any donation between $25 and $499 will get letter 2. ...

  • Re: Aliases

Hi Rose, You can't tick/untick the check aliases box until you populate one of the fields. As soon as you put a single character in a field ('name' for example) then you should have the option to tick the aliases box. Hope this helps (and proves true) Lee

  • Re: Adding a Standing Order/Direct Debit Gift - is this a good way to do it?

Hi Fiona,   Rather than use pledge, you'd be better off using recurring gift. Then, under pay method you can specify whether it's a standing order or direct debit. Once you have done that each time you add a new gift for that person RE will ask if you want to add it as a 'recurring gift pay cash' (you might have to tick a ...

  • Re: New to using events module

I would globally add invitees to an event and check the box that says update number invited. Whether or not you want to just add attendees or all that were invited depends on how you want to use the information. If you'll want to do event analysis down the line then it would probably useful to add all that were invited and then mark those that ...

  • Re: Importing Event Information from Excel into RE7

Hi Carl, Generally speaking, importing from a spreadsheet into RE is best done with a CSV. You will also need the correct headers for each column, which can be found by going to the help tab in RE, clicking on The Raiser's Edge Help Topics, and then typing in Import Tables List in the search field. Unfortunately the headers aren't the ...

  • Re: Wrong Event Info is Exporting

Hi Erin, I've never really been able to filter events properly by using start and end dates. Although it's not a brilliant solution,  a quick fix for a one-off report would be to change the type of event to something unique (eg the event ID) and then in the export filter on that event type. Thanks Lee

  • Re: How to query for all alumni who are children of alumni

Hi Aimee, I've just tried this and it seemed to work: First of all run a Relationship Query and under the Constituent node choose constituent code =College Graduate and then under the Individual node click on constituent code = College Graduate AND Relationship Code = One of Father/Mother/Parent... (depending on how you code parents). That ...
