Outside Acct vs. using General Ledger

We are trying to justify the move from outside CPA to staff fte doing our monthly financials. We process approx 500 gifts a month and have about 70 donor restricted funds, unrestricted funds as well as a few liability accounts. About how much time would we expect someone working with Financial Edge to spend on these? I'm talking ballpark.....not exact. Could it be done realistically by a 20 hour a week employee if their only duty was to reconcile our posted batches and produce a monthly financial statement? thanks, Hillary Murphy Phoebe Foundation Phoebe Putney Health System Hillary Murphy Financial Administrator Phoebe Foundation

If you can find someone with fund accounting experience, a 20hr week will probably be fine...maybe even a bit high. However, I came from pvt industry and had a harder time learning the new software and fund acctg. Financial Edge seems more user-friendly than AFN but it could take a month of full-time training to get your 20hr person comfortable in that situation.
