    Phone Formats

I am having trouble formatting phone type for international phone numbers.  When I choose none - it automatically adds an extension to the phone number.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Re: Phone Formats

    Hi there,

You can actually change the format of phone numbers. Create a phone type that is especially for International Phones. You can go into Configuration, click on "tables".  Then look for "phone type". Create a new phone type. then for "phone number type", choose "other".  Finally, for the "phone number format", select "none".  That way you will not have to worry about the system thinking that the extra numbers where an extension.  Hope this helps.Party!!!

While creating a phone type of "International" is an option, you won't be able to tell what phone number that actually is - unless you create multiple new phone types (i.e., International Business, International Fax, International Mobile...).

As an alternative, you can enter a comma before the actual phone number, and it won't format the number to what ever confirguration you have (i.e., (xxx-) xxx-xxxx ext. xxxx).  Instead it'll read +01 001 1234 456 5677 55  - keeping spaces and the "+" signs intact.  This way you don't add phone types - but still can track international numbers.
