We have implemented NetCommunity in a bilingual environment, where we have created 2 versions for each page, one in English and one in French. We have encountered a problem now with Team Fundraising. We are using the same Fundraiser part for our English page and for our French page. The French page has French navigation, and the English has English navigation.
We have created 2 pages (one in Eng and one in Fre) for the page containing the Fundraiser Page Elements. There is only one set of Fundraiser Page elements SHARED by each page. The pageID for the Eng page = 221 while the pageID for the Fre page = 517
When you search and click on a fundraiser, the English and French page BOTH take you to the English participant page (the page containing the Fundraiser Elements displayed). The pageId it takes you to is 221. Even when you edit the URL query string to 517, it reverts back to 221. When I preview the French page with the Fundraiser Elements from the NC backend, it DOES display the correct French nav. Is it possible to have the Search return the appropriate link to its respective language? Why does the participant page (in the front end) always revert back to English?
Thanks.
This may sound too obvious, but did you actually break the old link before adding the new one? Overwriting it isn't always good enough, I've found.
the impending release of v5.5 of NetCommunity will help greatly with this sort of setup. this version will introduce language-specific parts and enhancments that will allow you to better administer multi-lingual sites.
