I just started my new position less than a month ago. One of my many tasks is to create a Data Entry Policy and Procedures Manual for our staff. Policies and Procedures were never implemented; therefore, data is all over the place or not in at all. I'm trying to develop consistency in data entry as I begin the task of cleaning the data up. We have several people who use RE and right now they have no guidelines to follow, so they aren't entering any data in the system. Mostly, I interested in how and where your staff enters prospect research notes. When to use attributes and actions. Do you use Actions Tab when you send out invitations? Where do you track who attends events? Any information would be helpful.

I'm in a similar position regarding data clean-up. If anyone is willing to share their data entry policy and procedures manual, it would greatly appreciated.

Patti,
I have a manual that I made. I can e-mail it to you if you want. It is tailor-made for my organization, however you may be able to use it as a guide when making your own. e-mail me and I'll send you a copy.

Laura,
I am also new to RE and would love to establish a Policies and Procedures Guide. If you are still willing to share, I'd love to see what you came up with for a starting point for us.
Thanks.

Like everyone above, I am also new to RE and have the responsibility of putting together a policy and procedures manual. What is even more amazing is I also work for a food bank? I would love a copy if you are willing and able to share. Thanks!

Hi Laura,
looks like you have the magic beans : ) I am in the same situation as everyone else here and would love to see what you have. If you would not mind emailing me a copy I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much

I would also appreciate and welcome a copy of these procedures. I am still debating how I am going to go about writing these. Thank you in advance!

We currently use the Notes for prospect research notes, but I have seen posts from other users who use Actions. We also use Attributes, relationships, etc., for specific types of information gathered through prospect research. Since we don't have the Events Module, we use the Action tab to track event attendees as well as invitations.
Thanks for sharing your manual! If you want to attach it to your post, you can click on your post, select the Options tab, and click Add/Update to browse to the file.
Have a great weekend!Sarah
Dear Laura,
Hopefully you are not already sorry that you made your generous offer to share your data entry manual. If you are still willing to share, please send me a copy at fkawoczka@fsabc.org. Thank you!!!

Can't this document be added to the shared documents section of the website so that she can stop fielding requests from everyone?

That's what Sarah McBride suggested on Friday.

Actually it looked to me that she suggested adding it to the post - I was suggesting the general shared documents.
