    Creating a Template

I am trying to create templates in Crystal Reports 7, but am unable to figure out how.  I have found many instructions on how to do this with later versions, but the steps do not match.  I simply want to save my designs as templates so I do not have to recreate the formatting each time I want a new report.  Does anyone know how to do this in Version 7 of Crystal Reports?  Thanks!

I can't tell you the official way, if one exists, but you can always save a skeleton report that contains everything that you want to always include and then set the attribute on the file to "Read Only".  Exactly how you do that depends on the operating system where the Crystal Templates will be stored.

Have you considered upgrading to a more recent version.  You used to be able to get Crystal 8.5 from Blackbaud, but I'm not sure that it is still available.  You can certainly get Crystal XI from Blackbaud.
