    urgent query question

how do I do a query where I have to list everyone who gave in 2006, over $500.00 but not in 2007?  I can obviously do a 2006 but I don't know how to put the second portion (2007) in the same query.  Please advise ASAP! thanks

    Re: urgent query question

You probably want to use summary information - total giving.  Bring it over once put in the amount greater than or equal to $500 and set it up to filter on your 2006 date range (filters are on the second tab).  You can then bring over a second one and  put in the amount =0 and filter on your 2007 date range, etc.  if you use and between the 2 criteria you will get someone who gave over $500 in 2006 and noting in $2007.

Note: Total amount will combine all gifts that meet the filter crieria so if someone gave 2 gifts of $250 they are included as a $500 donor.  If you do not want this you can add an additional filter stating that you only want to include only individual gifts of $500 (filter on gift amount).  You will likely also want to filter on gift type so a $250 pledge and $250 pledge payment do not get combined to make a $500 total - I doubt you want that.

     Good luck.

    Re: urgent query question

An option do a summary query to pull donor whose gifts totaled $500 or over in 2006.  Then you would use that query in the LYBUNT report in analytical reports which is designed to show donors gifts last year but not this.  See if it gets you what you need.
