Does anyone know of any reports that you can run in conjunction with NetCommunity? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Noah...
Thanks for your post. There are actually several places in both BBNC and RE where you can get reporting.
For starters...in your Part list you will see a couple of different reporting parts:Reports (Web) - This allows you to setup a variety of web traffic reports.Reports (Email) - This allows you to setup a variety of email reports.Reports (Fundraiser) - This allows you to setup reports all around Team Fundraising.
You will also find additional reporting capabilities within email messages, email newsletters, and email campaigns. There's actually a lot of macro and micro level reporting available.
In addition, now in The Raiser's Edge you'll find the NetCommunity tab on the constituent record. This lets you get very granular information (web, email, team fundraising, etc) statistics at the constituent level.
And finally, BBNC works with Google Analytics. So if you want to connect BBNC to a pretty powerful (and free) web reporting tool, then create a Google Analytics account, and you can start tracking BBNC stats there.
I hope this helps
Thanks for the info Steve. I don't have access to that stuff in BBNC yet so maybe I'm prematurely asking this but do those reports allow you to report on something like, number of new registered users, average age of registered users, and other biographical and/or demographical data? Basically we want to be able to setup something that we can run every week to get an idea of who is signing up for NC.
We also want to know what they're doing once they get to the site but I imagine that something like google analytics (which I love) or the reports you listed above would be able to do that.
Steve,
Can you tell me how to get the Web Traffic reports to populate with data. I have created the part and placed it on a page; however, it shows no hits. I know that is not correct. The only thing I can find on the knowledgebase is to make sure the SQL server agent is running. I know it is because I have a backup job running everynigh that the agent runs. We have a Google Analytics account but I would have to create that part and add it to every page that we have.
Hi Derrick,
If you have the opportunity to work with the people who set up your BBNC site, you can ask them to set up these reports for you quite easily. We have an area on our BBNC website available only to employees, an area for our walk coordinators, one for our board, etc. We use roles in BBNC to give access to these areas. These roles are managed by an attribute in RE. Once the reporting is set up - anyone with the appropriate role can run the reports.
For team fundraising, there is a new report part that allows for solicitor reporting similar to the reports in RE. You do have the solicitor reports in RE - those are directly related to team fundraising. I feel they are a little more cumbersome and rely on the download being completed to see the most current data.
Lastly, you can write a query/export to show info related to a constituent who has registered on your BBNC site. You will find these fields under NetCommunity in the export output area. It's easy to set up a query and use it; however, you may get dupes in the query depending on what info you need to see. The export is the better way. I'd love to see a BBNC dashboard in RE.
I hope this helps.

Through the Net Reports in BBNC is there a way to track specific user's actions? I know I can see messages sent in the user's profile in the admin area and general web trafficing in Net reports, but once a user is logged in, can I track their page to page navigation?
Thanks.
I am looking for a couple of things.
1) eCard report. I am dying to know the number of eCards sent after giving links to them through a "photo of the week" on Twitter and FB.
2) We went live this past week, and I am seeing horribly high traffic on the reports. Like our BBNC metrics are showing 50 times the traffic of our microsite pages (50,000 visits--8500 in one day) than Google Analytics shows for our whole site (including the microsite pages).
I'm not believing the BBNC reports. But if they are accurate, I am worried about phishing. Anyone else experience this?
The terminology used on the BBNC traffic reports is incorrect - if you take them at face value, then the website traffic appears to be grossly over-inflated. BBNC seems to call page views 'unique views' from what I remember, which is pretty misleading.
