Checking applied payments

    Does anyone know a simple way to check if a payment assigned to one fund is applied to the correct pledge (with the same fund).  I just had a situation where a payment with one fund was assigned to a pledge with a different fund and when I went to reconcile the funds it took me forever to figure out where the error was.

     Any help would be appreciated.
