Discussed across various user groups was the concept of extending the use of Raisers Edge beyond the Alumni and Development team – other schools, faculties, departments, academics, CRM. In addition we have various institutes who currently record details of current students on Raisers Edge and many others who are considering this; the main benefit is to offer services to alumni before graduation. Some concerns regarding the extension of Raisers Edge include internal politics, resource strain on the alumni and Development team, training and security considerations.

• Imperial College allow schools to access Raisers Edge and sign a form agreeing to pre-agreed conditions of data usage
• Irish users discussed possibility of combining resources to have Blackbaud train a group on alumni relations in the Raisers Edge
• University of Bristol have strict security with different levels across the team
• Many universities recommended an overall strategy should be defined to help roll out to other departments
