I am attempting to use the special event module for our upcoming golf outing. I haven't been formally trained on it but did use it for our dinner dance. I found it a bit cumbersome. Does anyone have any words of wisdom or encouragement before I begin? I'd appreciate it

Hi Margaret,
I have used the event module for our 2 day golf tournament for the last three years. It actually isn't all bad. There are a few things I would like to see change but overall, it has been a time saver for me. I use the seating chart to do our cart assignments each day. I set up the various sponsorship packages so we can view what packages have been taken and what we still have available. Also, if you know that ABC Company or John Doe is taking out a particular package, then you can show it as being committed until you receive the check; we can run a report of the committed vs. paid on the sponsorship dollars.

We have been using the event module for approximately 2 1/2 years for all types of events and include (2) golf tournaments. I agree with Staci that there are things that could be changed but overall once you get the hang of it, you can pull wonderful information from the event module. We do not track the cart numbers as the golf course assigns them and we don't get that information so , we use the more button and assign team numbers. This helps us keep all our players aligned properly.
