When receiving a gift from the United Way, do you credit the person who gave the gift to the United Way the full amount or the amount that United Way sends in after they take their processing fee?

We debated long and hard about this, but finally decided to credit the full amount of the gift rather than deduct any processing fees. We felt there were too many variables - processing fees, unfulfilled pledges, etc. - to try to keep up with. We do not use RE as the final accounting numbers for our audit or anything quasi-official.
