    screen dumps/shots

    Hi all

Your advice needed please. I have been taking screen shots of RE as part of creating an office procedures manual. I'd like to add the shot on a word doc but want the shot to be large enough to be able to read any text easily (navigation buttons, tabs etc etc). Got any suggestions. I've been pressing the PrtScn button on my keyboard on the relevant page, pasting it to MS Picture Manager, copying from there and pasting into word, then clicking on the edge of the image to show the outer border then dragging a point on the border to the preferred size.

    Thanks

    Hi ya,

The best way to work around on this issue is to stick with MS Word itself. All you have to do is print screen and open a blank word document and paste it. Now here is the trick click on the picuture you pasted and you will notice a picture toolbar menu appears somewhere in the window, if you dont see it then go to View at the top and slect toolbars and then click on picture.  In the toolbar you have a tool called crop tool that can trim the picture. once you are done with triming you can just click on a corner of the picture and enlarge it. Since the picture you capture on the screen has high resolution you can have it enlarged so that you can see and read the text.

    Hope it helps

This could also be the difference between Alt Print screen and Control Print screen. Alt print scrren will copy only the current open window instead of doing a complete screen shot of your whole monitor

In a previous job I had to write loads lot of procedures when we brought in a new computer system and I was introduced to a neat tool called "Capture by George" (http://www.svet-soft.com/capture.shtml) Basically you drag a box around the screen, re-size it to whatever you want to capture and then press the button and you've got it in a format you can then paste into word....
