AP Checks printing on a networked copier

Does anyone use a networked copier to print Accounts Payable Checks and Accounts Rec. Statements on FE 7 ?  We are in the process of going all network from our computers to copiers for all printing needs, eliminating the need for desktop printers.  I’m curious if other companies are doing this for Accounts Payable checks and Account Receivable statements and if it works well for you.  What kind of problems did you have setting this up if you made the switch away from printers?  We use pre-printed checks currently.  Do you use un-printed checks?  How do you set that up and does it require special paper/document/ink for the MICR check coding?   Any feedback would be appreciated.

We're using a networked printer (not a copier) for AP and payroll checks.  (See the thread on Laser Printers for checks in this forum for more details.)

We use blank check stock and MICR toner.  The MICR toner is more expensive than regular toner.  I'm cheap and don't want to use that expensive toner for anything other than checks, so I've dedicated a printer exclusively to checks.  I would think that you might lose a lot of the cost advantages of a networked multi-function copier if you start feeding it expensive MICR toner for a bunch of e-mails, statements, and reports.
