    grant match

I need to track donations that will be used to match a grant.  I want to know how other users of RE do that.  I was planning on setting up an attribute instead of using the matching gift tab.  Any thoughts????

    Thanks!Hmm

    Re: grant match

    Hi Angelia,

This was a very good question and timely for me.  I just got off the phone with BB Support due to having been notified today of a challange grant.  I am going to use the Solicitor Function in RE to track the challange.  The standard solictor reports will work beautiflly for my purposes.

I tossed around Matching Gift Tab, Gift Code and Softcredit options.  All of these impact RE in very different ways and I want the least empactful but most productive reporting.

Now when the Executives ask how we are doing I just open the solictor details and I have my answer.

     Hope this helps!

    My best,

    Re: grant match

I've been tracking a challenge grant for the last year or so using attributes on gifts.  I set up a query to simply pull the gifts that qualify each week and then every Friday I do a global change to add the attribute to those gifts.  For reporting purposes I just export all the gifts that qualify and then sum them from there.  This works best for us as the auditors need to see the actual listing of individual gifts that qualify, so the export has name, date, amount, type, and fund.  I've had no issues so far using this procedure.
