It depends on which ADP version you are on. You can have ADP create it and then download it or you can create it yourself using GLINTERFACE. Either way you have your file set up as a CSV file. The columns you need are: Batch Number Account Number Date Type (C for Credit and D for Debit) Amount (Absolute Value) Journal and as part of the Journal Reference I include: Department Number Reference (Such as deduction type, earnings, expense etc) An optional field is Net Asset Type for the account. When I have the above information from ADP I save the account as a Excel account and insert another worksheet. On that worksheet I put the following headings: Batch Number Account Number Post Date Type Amount Journal Journal Reference Class Reverse Date (Only if accruing payroll for later reversal) I then link the new sheet to the downloaded sheet from ADP and copy the formulas down. For the journal reference I use the concatenate function to combine a reference that includes the period end date and the pay date, the department number, and the Reference field with a "-" between each of the fields. After you complete the new spreadsheet you save it and the save it again as a CSV file answering "Yes" to all the attendent warnings. You go to the batch that is awaiting the journal entry and import the file. If this is the first time you will need to create a import template using the file headings as your import fields. ( A separate one for the accrual entry since it will have an additional field). The first time you should run a validation and correct errors. If no errors then you can import it. It sounds more complicated than it is. Once you get used to it, it should not take you longer the 10-15 minutes for an entry. Let me know if ther are further questions.

Are you using the Financial Edge ADP Import Utility plug in to import your data?
