    Filter Memberships

I was wondering if anyone has used the custom where clause for the CMemberships object. Is it really just restricted to the Membership table? When you look at the CMembership object there are many other fields and pieces of information that do not exist in the Membership table (current standing, current category) that I would like to filter on. Any suggestions Thanks David Zeidman Development http://www.zeidman.info  Check out my RE API blog http://re-decoded.com

Dear David, We've used it for gifts, constituents and banks, but not CMemberships. It's very useful in the other contexts though. Regards, David.

I've also used it in very many different contexts but the problem is with membership is that the main table doesn't contain that much useful information. There is no "current transaction" table (a lot of that information is available in the CMembership object) so you have to write some complicated where clause. There does not appear to be a filter object for CMemberships. So I worked out that the custom where clause works from the Memberships view and not from the table (where there are very few fields). The view gives you access to many other fields including the current standing and a link to the current transaction. Serious lack of documentation for this one. I think that I will have to write a blog entry... David Zeidman Development http://www.zeidman.info  Check out my RE API blog http://re-decoded.com
