    Looking For A Database Coordinator (Gifts and Grants)

    Located in Washington, DC, the World Resources Institute (WRI) is an environmental think tank that goes beyond research to find practical ways to protect the earth and improve people's lives. Our mission is to move human society to live in ways that protect Earth's environment and its capacity to provide for the needs and aspirations of current and future generations. We are seeking a Database Coordinator in our Development Department. WRI¡¦s Development Grants Office manages a database system to coordinate fundraising and grants management efforts. The integrity of this information is critical to the successful implementation and maintenance of the system. We are seeking a highly qualified, detail-oriented and organized individual to perform the following functions: „X Maintains the integrity of the development database, including creating new records, data entry of all grants, proposals and contact information. „X Ensures that all contact information is current and accurate. „X Maintains accurate and up-to-date information in the database of all reporting requirements for WRI grants. „X Enters new revenue and prepare monthly reconciliation to the accounting system of grants and contributions and provide this information to the Director of Grants Management for review. „X Prepares and coordinate the timely submission of acknowledgements of grants, gifts and pledges. „X Coordinates the processing of annual appeals with the accounting department and ensures that they are recorded properly in the donor database to enable an accurate analysis of these appeals. „X Assists in the design and implementation of Raiser¡¦s Edge database. „X Generates reports from the donor database, update graphs and runs routine financial reports. „X Provides assistance, guidance and training to program staff on basic features of the donor database. Administrative Support „X Reviews subgrant financial reports for accuracy and maintain a tracking system for WRI¡¦s partner collaborations that tracks payments and reporting requirements. „X Maintains systems for tracking payments of grants and pledges. „X Updates the Development Office Intranet site monthly to include new funding and other reports from the donor database as well as improve and expand it as necessary. „X Generates routine correspondence such as transmittal letters to donors with reports and counter signed grant agreements. „X Maintain grants, pledges and subgrant files up-to-date and in order. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills; capable of working independently; as well as have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in team situations. The successful candidate will be a team player, self-motivated, attentive to detail and able to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously. S/he will have expertise in the administration of fundraising databases (Raiser¡¦s Edge experience preferred), working knowledge of federal regulations and funding agencies practices, private sector funding and contract requirements and compliance, have experience working with financial and accounting software, must be proficient in MS Office, and have basic knowledge of HTML and other web tools A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
