Dear Colleagues, McLean School of Maryland is a K-12, co-ed school, with approximately 500 students enrolled. I am presently on a task force to gather information on “Best Practices” of expansion/enrollment. I’m hoping you can help by sharing your own enrollment expansion experiences by answering a few of the questions below: 1. How would you describe your school? 2. How long ago did you embark on an expansion? 3. What was the ultimate goal/purpose of your expansion? 4. How did you promote the expansion: ads, networking, events, etc.? 5. Did you work with any professional consultants? 6. What impact did the expansion have on the marketing of the school? 7. Did you have a primary target group, and what was the strategy for marketing to them? 8. How did the expansion impact the faculty and how were they involved in the marketing process? 9. Did you work with a timeline? If so, how long was the process and were you able to accomplish your goals in a timely manner? 10. Did you set up a separate budget for this? 11. Who was responsible in-house for the marketing, and what was the role of the marketing director? 12. Can you share your “successes” and your “lessons learned” in the whole process?
