Any have a work around solution for the following security control issue: Solution to force Edge users to create strong passwords and periodically change their passwords. An example would be a solution to enforce minimum password length of at least 6 characters, password complexity (alpha, numeric, symbols, lower and upper case), password expiration every 60 to 90 days, prevention of password re-use, and account lockout (after 3 to 5 invalid login attempts). or a manual process to monitor\ensure that users create strong passwords and change their passwords periodically Thanks

SQL Server 2005. Otherwise I'm not sure but you might be able to experiment with some custom Alerts in SQL 2000 and have those execute some custom jobs - but that's sort of a hack. Dan Larson Programmer Saint Cloud, Minnesota To me, it's a good idea to always carry two sacks of something when you walk around. That way, if anybody says, "Hey, can you give me a hand?" you can say, "Sorry, got these sacks." ~Jack Handy

One way to handle this is to check the "Use Windows Authentication" checkbox when setting up a user. Windows authentication can then be set to require strong passwords and have them periodically changed. This also streamlines the Blackbaud logon process and gives users one less password to remember (or worse, write down!) Paul D. Wykes VP Finance and Information Systems Old Sturbridge Village
