I have produced a new resource cataloguing the available plugins for all Blackbaud products. The Directory is open to everyone to view, search, and download non-commercial plugins. According to the Blackbaud API help file a plugin is defined as a: "specially built applet extensions to The Raiser's Edge. A plug-in does just that, it "plugs in" to The Raiser's Edge UI, opening up the door to a wide range of custom functionality. Plug-ins can be as simple as an HTML page or a Microsoft Office document, or as complicated as a multi-level ActiveX document or interactive spreadsheet. " In the case of plugins no additional licences are required to install or use them. The plugin descriptions are based on available documentation which in some cases is very limited, so any help in improving that documentation is appreciated. Dear David, Fantastic stuff. Good on you. It amazes me that Blackbaud doesn't even have a list of their own plug-ins which they can provide. I particularly like the potential of your Query Manager to finally bring thousands of queries under control. I wonder whether it could be extended to simulate a folder or archiving structure for queries, by naming them appropriately. Of course this is something which would be better done directly in RE, but until such time, I wonder whether we could work around the serious limitations of current RE query management. Thanks David, The query manager was intended to be that a folder based system of queries. The problem is that you have to add a table to the RE database to save the folder layout. This may be a problem for some people. I will probably do this some time (if Blackbaud do not do it themselves) as I think this is really lacking. The problem is that you could never save the query to a folder only move it from within the new plugin to the folder you wanted but I guess this is better than nothing.
