    Accepting Credit cards

Why, oh why, does Student billing not accept credit card payments? I am curious how other organizations accept payments from parents for tuition. We are currently using Raiser's Edge to accept credit cards. If it's a donation, then we post in RE, if not, then we don't post but would enter the "deposit" in FE if it was in A/R or a journal entry if not. But now that we are using Student billing, this procedure will be extrememly time consuming. How does everyone else using Student billing get around this problem? Thanks, Sonja

I always do my credit card payments as a separate deposit and have no problems. I can distinguish between the different credit cards but use a spreadsheet to track the different types of cards on a deposit so when the deposits reach the bank I can reconcile.

I might not have been too clear... I am talking about the actual PROCESSING of credit cards (the process of running them). I have to enter each person twice- once in RE to process the card, then again though Student billing. I am trying to save the trouble of the processing going through RE. Thanks, Sonja

Sonja - I am new to Education Edge - and was very disappointed to learn that the IATS functionality from RE is not available in Student Billing. I just atarted looking in to this two days ago. My thought wss that I would enter the student billing payment in RE through batch - export those records from RE and then import them in to Student Billing. I have not even begun to look to see if this is feasible - but that's my plan at the moment. Candace Chesler The Frances Xavier Warde Schools Chicago, IL
