    Distribution Adjustments

Would anyone suggest a procedure to to make adjustment to invoice distributions that have been posted after a check run that has been posted to the G/L. We have currently updated our Chart of Accounts and a/p posted items need to be "moved" to new account numbers. Thanks!

If you dont have very many, I would use the adjustment button on the toolbar in AP (the hammer and wrench). You can record the adjustment by using the "new distribution". Use the original post date, then the next time you post the accounts will update. Karen/Martin Methodist College

What Transaction Date do you use on the Adjustment.  We are having difficulty printing Aged A/P reports for past period ends and reconciling them to the G/L - as a result of the dates we are using on our Adjustments.

    Re: Distribution Adjustments

I try and use the same date as the invoice date for our adjustments and we also use the invoice date as our post date.  Very rarely is our post date different from the invoice date.  Keeping these the same will help when running your reports for accounts payable and general ledger, because both the dates are exactly the same and so are all adjustments; so they flow in and out as if you entered it correct the first time.
