Good morning! As many of you know, the Raiser's Edge Users Forum (http://reusers.server-planet.com ) started up humbly last May. Since that time this little forum has gone through a tremendous amount of change and growth. For that, I thank you all. Without active, participating members a community like this is nothing. It ceases to exist. Because we have been so successful in drawing in the user community of Blackbaud clients, Blackbaud itself has definitely taken notice. They have been very receptive to the ideas and comments we are generating and the future looks bright for using our groups as a means to funnel information form the users to the developers. This will allow us to have a more organized approach to working with Blackbaud to get the software to do just what we want it to do. All these developments have allowed us to move to the next step of our evolution. On Monday, January 22, 2007 the RE Users forum will no longer exist. We will be re-launching as the Blackbaud User Society (http://www.blackbus.org ). What was intended to be a small forum for Raiser's Edge users has grown to embrace all clients of Blackbaud products, and the site should reflect that. Changes you will see are: - brand new site layout and style - increased content, articles, tutorials, and other information resources - regular reports of user suggestions to the Blackbaud Development team - interviews, podcasts, and SkypeCasts with Blackbaud staff members - single sign-on for all site resources - much more as the year progresses! As part of this new launch, I am going to need your help. I invite all you who write, blog, poll, or interview to contact me and volunteer to provide content to the site. I will also require help in moderating the forum, and updating the site. My vision for the site is to make the Blackbaud User Society the definitive resource for users of Blackbaud products. A tightly knit community of like-minded users whose sole purpose of membership is to get their tools working better. A better functioning tool like Raiser's Edge means that that the people your organization serves will lives better lives. Make no mistake - we are going to change the world.
