    Batch Entry Checks Split Appeal

is there any way of flagging or reminding or using a business rule when entering a *batch* of (only) check gifts if a particular person's last check gift had a split appeal (so that for the current check gift entry we would know that it needs to have the same split appeal)? C. Bourne

We wouldn't split gift appeals only split funds. There should have only been one apeal but the donor may ask to have the money be used for 2 purposes. I have a suggestion in to BB that annotations and business rules should come up in batch so you can see important stuff about the donor but currently you can't do that. For now you would have to (in Batch) go under consituent and check view giving history. You can see all their gifts and the information/columns you normally see on the gift tab. I have added the appeal column to my screen for this purpose. Melissa S. Graves Databse Administrator Planned Prenthood of Connecticut [Email Removed]

In RE 7.6, you can do a split gift and then split the amount to each appeal you want this money allocated to. The fund may be the same for the gift, but the appeal is different. We definitely can do this. The issue is remembering to do this in Batch for only those who last gift was split. C. Bourne IT Support

I don't need that example exactly but there are times I am in batch and I need to know something about their giving and even if I create a business rule to find that person the popup only works in the constituent record not in batch. I have suggested this to BB for a future release. Melissa S. Graves Databse Administrator Planned Prenthood of Connecticut [Email Removed]
