    Accounting for Subsidiary Organizations

We are incorporating a separate small subsidiary organization. I'm looking for an easy method to account for the subsidiary, without setting up another database. Should I use a unique cost center? Fund? Looking for ideas!

We use funds. By using a separate fund within an existing database, financial reports can be filtered by funds, separated by funds, or run together. If your intent is to keep this segregated, I believe funds are best way. pat senft congregation of the mission midwest province

We have created a fund for this same purpose and it has worked out well. Paul D. Wykes VP Finance and Information Systems Old Sturbridge Village

Thanks Pat and Paul for your responses. Looks like its best to create a new fund, thanks.
