I don't know if you are still looking for a response after all this time, however, here goes: I used Sage Software for 3 yrs in my position as Database Manager at a United Way. The constituent base was apprx. 100,000. The software was difficult to learn, however, once I mastered it, it proved to be extremely flexible for all aspects of Campaign Analysis. In my current position, where I have been for 2 yrs, we use RE 7.80. I found it much easier to learn at a fundemental level, adding constituent data, extracting reports, etc. but it doesn't seem to be as powerful at the analysis level. Now, with a database of 5,600, you may not need the powerful analysis tools, and you will certainly appreciate the much easier learning curve that RE provides. Note: in both cases I was not provided with any real training so I had to teach myself and RE works very much like Access or other MS Office software. The Sage software was a little less user friendly. RE also integrates very well with other MS Office products which, at least at the time I was using it, Sage does not. Other considerations: I have found RE support to be vastly superior, it is quicker and more effective, the Sage support folks tended to respond less quickly and, at times, there was a cost involved to having them provide a solution. On the other hand, I found Sage to be much more progressive, that is: in the 3 years I worked with it, it improved dramatically from when I first started to when I finished, the RE software has improved very little over the 2 years I've been using it.
