I would love to see job descriptions for other Registrar's if you are willing to share. I have a dual role, Registar/US Admin Asst, but have been charged with the implementation and maintenance of the Registrar's package from configuration to scheduling, grade reporting to Faculty Access training, etc. I have a feeling that these jobs are parcelled out in other schools. How does your school handle the use of Registrar's as far as division of labor, authority, etc? Is your Registrar an administrator with concurrent authority that supervises the implementation/use of the system, or is that person strictly a user? Do you have a tech person in charge of the configuration? What about updates and faculty/staff training? I'd love to hear from you.... Thanks.

Our school is small, with 170 students and 35 faculty. We have a Head's Administrative Assistant. I am the registrar and only user of Registrar's Office and in charge of all Registrar's Office functions. We have 2 computer technicians, one in charge of all hardware on campus and server functions and the other also a teacher who is basically in charge of Faculty Access and training. I know enough about FA to answer some basic questions, but it makes much more sense for someone who actually uses the grading aspect to be the one to give the training and answer questions. I hope this helps!

I am the Guidance Secretary at our school. We have a data base manager who enters and maintains the student and facmily data base. We have two tech support staff. I mantain all grades, transcripts receiviang and sending acadmic records. I send all rosters to teachers and prepare all grade cards using Jackson Grade Quick software for faculty grade books. I enter all courses and set up the course time table in scheduling and schedule student's in classes. (We have part time help list all course options.) We have over 1,000 students with 400+ in the high school where I work. I also support 2 guidance counselors and the college application process for all seniors.

We have approx. 500 students. I am a database manager for all databases (raiser's edge, education edge and billing)and I perform registrar's duties. We have a scheduler who performs class and room scheduling tasks. We recently converted from version 6 to 7.5.22----believe me there are issues on all fronts here. I must commend you for the work that you do. I hope they are paying you well-----you deserve it.
