    Importing from Excel

Does anyone know if the budget module supports this? We are currently budgeting in Excel and then rekeying everything in the budget module-very inefficient!! it would be nice to "dump" the excel worksheet into the budget module. Thanks for the help!

Diane, Yes, it is possible to import your budgets from Excel. It's fairly easy to do. A little tedious to set up the import file but well worth in the long run. I used it for our budgets last year and it worked out pretty well. If you will send me an email at [Email Removed], I will be working on something to walk you through doing it and email it back to you. If anyone else is interested, feel free to email too. We imported all our budgets this year including project budgets. I found it very easy. There are a few things you need to pay attention to if you are going to make changes after the 1st import, which we do a lot of. All of our budget worksheets had an import tab that automatically formated information so we could just save as a .csv and import.

I also import the budget each year. It is a great process and pretty uncomplicated. Of course, you have the validation feature which helps assure you are doing things correctly. There are good knowledge base articles on importing budgets. You can create an import file so you will have the field headings. We import both account and project budgets. With project budget imports, you will have to also have an account column. Nora Nora Isaac Manager, Information Technology The ALS Association, Greater Phila. Chapter [Email Removed]
