We are trying to understand the process of calculating GPA's. We need to do Core, Unweighted, and Weighted GPA's. I am looking for assistance from someone who has succesfully implemented GPA calculations in the Education Edge version 7. Carol Colluccio, Mount Saint Mary Academy 908-757-0108, Ext 4502. With the last upgrade received last week, we are now able to do CUMULATIVE GPAs. Version 7 was calculating our current GPA correctly, but could not do cumulative until now. Our standard GPA formula is: Multiplying the grade (we weight through the grade translation table: Honors, AP and regular have different values) TIMES the credits attempted; DIVIDED by the total credits attempted. We also do the GPA for each marking period, so there is a specific setup you have to use in the COURSE grade information. You're welcome to call for further info.

Carol, Thanks for the update. I talked to our sales rep last week and she gave me a contact locally of a school that was similar to our installation. I visited the site and saw how they did it. We are now calculating four different GPA's, Core Unweighted, Core Weighted, Standard Unweighted, and Standard Weighted. I was missing one small detail in the GPA calculation. We are weighting in a Course Record and I was trying to weight in both the Course Record and in the Translation Table. All is fixed and GPA's are running and tested accurate.
