Good Afternoon, I am wondering whether other schools address their Student Billing statements to the parents or the students. Since we upgraded to Student Billing 7, we are unable to address statement to the parents and still sort by student. We used to sort by student so that we could easily attach any corresponding paperwork (e.g. dentist invoice) to the statements. Thank you. I will be upgrading to 7 in the next several months. My plan is to create a salutation on the student record for the parent/parents name. When I run the statements it will be based on the student but be pulling the salutation I set up with the parent/parents name.

How will that work when there are more than one student in a family or more than one payer responsible for the payments as in the case of some divorced families?

We do as the other poster said - create a salutation for the parents. The student is also the payer - we do not use the parents (Individual) record at all. For joint payers, you can set the other parent to receive a statement copy on the 'Statements' tab, but there is only one actual record that holds all the charges and payments, that is the student record.

Good Afternoon: Just wondering where you create the salutation for the parents on the student record? Thanks, Tamara Phillips

We address our statements to the parents, listing the student name prior to the charges/credit. On the statement tab of the student we select "send statements to" put in the name of the payer(s),check box for print seperate statement, and selecting "all charges". We also put in the students name but don't select "send seperate statement", but do enter "all charges". If you have someone who wants to see a copy of the statement you can select "who receives copies of statements"... I hope this helps you.(ps if you use single statement it will go only to the student)
