Is there anyone who has used the Advanced Deposit funciton in AFN6, has converted to Student Billing 7 and understands how the get the same functionality (or something similar) in the new product? Our SB person just went to a training and it sounds like the Advance Deposit function really isn't any longer. We converted to FE7 last June, but SB wasn't ready yet. Before we convert, I want to understand exactly how to use it. I'm discouraged from what I'm hearing. Sounds like we'll have to have a charge in the current year for the next year's tuition, and reduce the tuition amount for the next year by the deposit amount. I'm hoping I'm wrong. Hi Teresa, I have had the opportunity to use Advance Deposits in Student Billing 7. I have not generated any as of yet, but I have entered them. We collect deposits to secure spaces for our upcoming school year. I enter them through "Payments". When I'm entering a payment for the advance deposit I also schedule in the advance deposit. You can also bill advance deposits ahead of time, and when you enter the payments, select the advance deposit under "Student Billing Detail." Hope that helps.
